Summary:
Directs and coordinates activities of the Wellsville Operations by managing the Extrusion, Die Shop, Ship/Pack, and Production Control teams.
Works with the General Manager and Site Leadership Team to formulate and administer operational plans to ensure the growth opportunities and business objectives met in order to achieve operational excellence, to delight the customers, and grow the culture of safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Champions the safety culture by actively engaging employees at all levels with a zero-injury philosophy and works with the Leadership Team to create vision for achieving this goal.
Responsible for business performance for the asset base at the Wellsville facility.
Works with sales and operations to ensure customer satisfaction and sales growth.
Develops the leadership team to create a culture of teamwork and actively engages the team to leverage strengths and achieve business objectives, develop site specific policies, lead continuous improvement initiatives, establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
Assists in the developing and implementing of strategic plans by studying the market conditions and financial opportunities, presenting assumptions, and making recommendations.
Leads plant financial performance by overseeing key activities in safety, quality, operations, reliability, continuous improvement, and organizational development.
Assists with the development of annual budgets and capital plans.
Manages monthly financial performance results such as operational costs, inventory turns, scrap, on-time delivery, uptime, and other key metrics.
Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
Develops Capital Asset requests and implements projects to improve operations to maximize returns on investments, to increase productivity, and execute the growth plan.
Develops operational metrics in cooperation with General Manager of Wellsville Extrusion Operations to measure and challenge the team in order to achieve operational excellence.
Provides leadership for the Quality team in order to ensure the highest level of quality standards to maintain customer satisfaction and ISO requirements.
Confers with customers on the development of products and customer service required in order to delight the customer.
Collaborates with Pennex York Fabrication in order to support customer demands and complement the extrusion products developed and produced to grow the business.
Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of business.
Works with Sales leadership to develop annual forecast and provide budget for annual operating plan to meet the business objectives Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives This position will serve as a key member of the Wellsville Leadership Team.
Key direct reporting relationships are as follows:
Extrusion Manager, Die Shop Manager, Packing/Shipping Manager, Production Control/Scheduling, Logistics.
Key accountabilities for this role are defined as follows:
Safety Performance P&L Customer Satisfaction Operating Metrics Asset Utilization Organizational Development This position will play an active role within the community, working with local charities, supporting local councils, and networking with our local business and government officials.
